Our Community Outreach Ministry is committed to hosting and conducting an ongoing series of seminars about the devastating effects of Identity Theft.
Identity Theft has been identified as the fastest growing crime nationwide and though it's effects are far reaching it's effects are particularly great in our own state and in our own community.
The Federal Trade Commission in a partnership with the community generously provides informative materials to organizations such as ours that seeks to educate others about the impact of this cyber crime.
The FTC’s national education campaign - AvoID Theft: Deter, Detect, Defend - aims to empower consumers to protect themselves against identity theft and to minimize the damage it can cause. Through the program, the FTC provides necessary tools to enable anyone – regardless of existing knowledge about the issue – to effectively educate others.
These series will be held at various church locations, at community events, senior programs, youth programs as well as any social group or organization that will permit it since this crime does not discriminate in age, sex, creed or color.
